PROJECT 4 - SELF-TITLED (40%)

1. Idea Development

Fig. 1.3 Sketches, Week 11 (1/11/2021)

#1: To incorporate the things that I love, I decided to use my hand and have the "hobbies" attached to strings to resemble a puppet show kind of concept.

#2: It's similar to concept #1 but portrayed in a different way.

2. Digitalization Progress

Fig. 2.1 Abandoned attempt, Week 12 (8/11/2021)

We were to develop 2 digital posters based on our sketches. After the above attempt in Photoshop, I realized that including myself as a human being in the poster will make the poster much messier and I was afraid there were too many things going on.

So after the first attempt, I took my photo in another pose. The lighting and camera equipment that I had wasn't the best but I had to make the most out of what I had at the moment.

These are some of the little things that makes me happy and I decided to incorporate it in the poster, but instead of taking photos of the objects myself, I used stock images which I had permission granted from Mr. Fauzi.

Fig. 2.4 Final poster design draft, Week 13 (15/11/2021)

I love the color scheme that is in one of the poster references I listed, so I used that color palette to resume with my poster design. I used shapes and lines so everything seem simple and minimal.

3. Animation

FEEDBACK

Week 12
Specific Feedback: As the project requires more of photography skills, I suggested to remove the piano staircase and just have my hands reaching out for the things I love.

Week 14
Specific Feedback: Love the color scheme and love that it's minimal. Animate me.

REFLECTION

Thanks to this project, I have the opportunity to play around with After Effects. I learnt that it would be better if I planned my sketch better and try my best to make my poster be as close to the sketches I had or else there is no point of sketching if my outcome in the end is way different than my sketch.
