Project 1: Audio Editing Exercises (30%)

Exercise 01 - Audio Dubbing
We are to add sound effects and dub our audios to a movie clip provided by Mr Martin.

Exercise 02 - Sound Shaping
We have to use audio clips provided by Mr Martin and make it sound like the following effects.
  • Voice of phone call
  • Voice coming from inside of closet
  • Voice of big stadium
  • Voice of toilet/bathroom
  • Underground cave

Exercise 03 - Sound Design
We are to go through the tutorial video Mr Martin provided, utilising the 4 important sound design techniques which are: time stretching/compression, pitch shifting, reversing and layering in Adobe Audition.

REFLECTIONS

In this project, I've learnt that sound effects engages audiences: it helps deliver information, it increases the production value, it evokes emotional responses, it emphasizes what's on the screen and is used to indicate mood.
